MBFWA Runway Recap // Ginger & Smart, Misha Collection and Yeojin Bae

"For small creatures such as we the vastness is only bearable through love" - Carl Sagan
Ginger & Smart's Resort 2017 runway really understood what the change in date for MBFWA meant, a perfectly seasoned collection. Taking inspiration by the earths reflection from space, the sisters explored graphic layered textures and an atmospheric colour palette. Fluidity merges with strength keeping to the heart of their much-loved aesthetic, it was definitely a strong start to the first full day of shows.

The buzz of the day was definitely centered around Bella Hadid who was walking exclusively for Misha Collection's runway to debut their latest Misha Gold range. Designer Aznavorian says, "Bella Hadid is one of today’s foremost models. Bella has an alluring sense of self, she is both charming and confident. Bella is not afraid of making a statement, expressing herself through her thoughtful style choices. She perfectly embodies the Misha Collection woman." With a celebrity following of Jlo, Ariana Grande, Kendall Jenner and Eva Longoria already wearing their designs Misha is one of the hottest Australian brands worn by celebrities in the US.

Yeojin Bae celebrated 10 years of her eponymous label at MBFWA, showcasing her latest resort collection Contemplation. The range offered a chic, athletic mood via architectural silhouettes and strong use of the designer’s signature red, emerald, black and blush tones. An industry leader, Bae made all styles on the runway available for pre-order on her online store immediately after the show. “Designing this collection really came about with ease for me, I let go of any expectations of what I should do as a designer and focused on creating what I personally love to share. For me, this is why I got into to designing and how the brand started 10 years ago.”
